VDD publishes Annual Report on its activities in 2021

Latvian State Security Service (VDD) has prepared Annual Report about its activities in 2021.

"At a time when Europe is experiencing the greatest upheaval of this century in the face of Russia's brutal aggression against Ukraine, which is completely unacceptable to a democratic society, it is important to look back at the developments of the past year, which affected Latvia's national security," says the Director General of VDD Normunds Mežviets.

VDD Annual Report aims to inform society about VDD’s accomplishments and to provide VDD’s assessment about the last year’s most significant events and processes within the remit of VDD as well as about their impact on the national security interests.

VDD Annual Report includes information about the main VDD’s activity fields: counterintelligence, protection of state secrets, protection of the constitutional order, security of the information space, economic security, counterterrorism, pre-trial investigation and dignitary protection.
